In 2018, a vision was born that would redefine sustainability in Hong Kong. As Dora and Jeff awaited the arrival of their first child, they embarked on a journey across the city in search of organic and sustainable goods. Recognizing the scarcity of sustainable options in Hong Kong, they set out to make changes to the landscape with a concept they aptly named "Tiny Steps Forward."
What began as a personal journey soon burgeoned into a communal mission, aimed at making changes within the Hong Kong community. A quiet night walk sparked a surge of innovation within Dora and Jeff, birthing Slowood: a visionary hub dedicated to curating sustainable, zero-waste offerings under one roof.
Echoing the wisdom of Anne-Marie Bonneau, "We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly, we need millions of people doing it imperfectly," Slowood transcended its identity as a mere eco-conscious retailer. It emerged as a unifying force, advocating for collective action and incremental progress as the driving forces behind meaningful change.
